Regolith Series Mix 6-pack

Don't forget these...

Description

Two bottles of each. Three ancient soils. One question answered: what does the earth do to a wine when everything else stays the same?

The Regolith Mixed 6-Pack is the definitive way to experience the series — and the most compelling tasting exercise you can do at home. Pour all three side by side. Same variety. Same winemaker. Same vintage. Three completely different wines.

The difference between them is entirely the soil. The Limestone's chalky brightness. The Ironstone's ancient depth. The Quartzite's quiet precision. Put them next to each other and you will understand Clare Valley's geology in a way that no book, no course, and no wine show can teach you.

Limestone
Bryksy Hill
Bright, floral and elegant. The most immediately expressive of the three. Chalky tannin, red cherry lift.
Ironstone
Glen Kelly · 1932
Dark, earthy and structured. 94-year-old bush vines. The oldest Grenache in Clare Valley. Built to age.
Quartzite
Crabtree Estate
Soft, precise and mineral. Ancient creek bed. The most contemplative of the three. Demands patience.
The concept — what is Regolith?

"Regolith is the layer of fragmented rock and soil above the solid bedrock — the ancient geological foundation beneath our feet. In winemaking, it is this layer that defines the character of the wine above it."

Three sites. Three regolith types. One variety. The Regolith Series is our attempt to let Clare Valley's ancient geology speak without interference. Andrew Kenny — Vigneron of the Year 2024, Clare Valley Hall of Fame Rising Star — made every wine in this series.

How to taste it

Side by side: Open all three at the same time. Pour a small glass of each and taste them together. Start with Limestone, then Quartzite, then Ironstone. The contrast is the point.

Over time: Open one per month and watch how each wine evolves. The Ironstone will keep changing for years. The Limestone will peak sooner. The Quartzite will surprise you at every stage.

With food: The Limestone loves lamb. The Ironstone loves slow-braised beef. The Quartzite loves something delicate — duck, quail, or a beautiful cheese platter.
