Our Grenache is dedicated to my best mate, ‘Jinx’, the best buddy anyone could ever have.
This is our inaugural vintage of our ‘Jinx’ Grenache and will only made in years when grape quality is exceptional. The 2022 season was everything we could hope for with a fantastic growing season with no major weather irregularities which enabled the grenache to slowly ripen on the vine. My whole family helped to pick this one, which proved to be tough going as it was grown on bush vines, with the fruit very close to the ground. Thanks to my family for the back-breaking effort to help pick these ones!
On first pass, the wine has an amazing bouquet of jubes, cherry, gummy bears and violets. The palate is complex with dark blackberry, wild spice and a rich confectionary mouthfeel. This wine has been given the best possible oak treatment with approximately 30% in brand new French oak with the remainder in seasoned French oak to ensure development. This is the ultimate medium bodied wine, perfect as a glass after a tough week in the office or a perfect match with food.
